Patsy Shields travels both nationally and internationally teaching others how to have fun with their sewing machines. She has written for several sewing publications, has projects in several books and has produced a video on ribbon embroidery by machine. She also teaches at consumer sewing events around the country and has a wealth of knowledge about threads, stabilizers, and machine embroidery.

Ribbon Embroidery by Machine

Learn to make beautiful roses, daisies, looped flowers, stems and leaves as you create a beautiful bouquet of flowers by machine. It’s quick and easy and anyone can do it. A kit will be provided with ribbons, fabric and thread to use.
Student Supplies: You will need a 6" wooden machine embroidery hoop. One can be borrowed from the teacher. Other items will also be available for purchase that is helpful in this process as well as a DVD.

If you love the look of hand appliqué but just don’t have the time to do it, join Patsy and learn how to do it by machine. You will learn how to use different stabilizers to help with turning under the edge and how to stitch it down so it is virtually invisible.
