Sadia Andrews – Sadia’s Designs
Sadia AndrewsSadia Andrews’ love affair with fabrics and sewing started when she was six years old. She would make clothes for her younger sister’s dolls. The hobby continued as she made designer clothes for herself and friends, and later opened up her own boutique in native country of Pakistan. A lawyer by profession, she devoted her free time to working with fabrics and designing different and unusual garment for the local women. It was no surprise that she found machine embroidery and quilting as another form of artwork with fabrics. A private individual, she started a women’s self help center and taught many local women in Bangladesh the art of quilting, where today these women are earning a livelihood for themselves and their families. Seven years ago, she decided to enter the arena of digitizing her artwork. She uses several different types of software to produce quality designs for the home embroiderer. Great care is given to her designs to give a hand embroidery look and she is known especially for her freestanding lace designs. Her designs have been showcased in several machine embroidery magazines in the U.S. and Australia.
