Cindy Lohbeck was raised with a loving passion for creativity and color. Her mother taught her how to sew at the age of 7, and she has worked with fabric ever since. With 25 years as an interior designer, she has a love of textiles and an eye for color that is the foundation for her award winning designs. She has also worked as a professional faux finisher and muralist, and owned a tie-dye business in the early years, all of which helped refine her color mixing skills. With the addition of quilting to her creative repertoire in 2002, all of her passions collided in a burst of color, and Hands On Hand Dyes was born. Committed to quality, convenience and simplicity, her hand dye kits teach color mixing, dye techniques and value lessons in a fast, fun and affordable method. Her beautiful color pallets and value gradations are perfect for today’s busy quilter, and make hand dying fabric accessible to everyone.

The Hands On Hand Dyes dye kit gives you all of the tools, fabric, dye, chemicals, and instruction that you will need to make beautiful hand dyed fabrics in just a few hours. This fast, fun and affordable method makes it easy to start your projects with fabrics you have hand dyed yourself. You will learn to mix color and create your own full spectrum, colorwheel pallet. Then you will create a light, medium and dark value of each of those 12 colors! You will dye 36 fat quarters (9 yards) in only 3 hours. The fabric that is included in your kit is high quality cotton, perfect to use for your upcoming classes. Choose from three Color Collections - Gardens, Playground or Mountains. Kit fee will be paid to instructor during the workshop.
