Veronica Cox
Veronica Cox is the owner of Bear Thread Designs, Inc. and has traveled extensively, teaching fusible appliqué using The Appliqué Pressing Sheet. She has demonstrated the technique at quilt shows, quilt shops, cruises, quilt guild meetings and on television. Veronica and The Appliqué Pressing Sheet have also been featured on America Quilts in three different series. Recently Veronica was asked to tape a segment with Quilter’s News Network. The Appliqué Pressing Sheet has been featured on HGTV’s Simply Quilts numerous times with different designers and has been endorsed by many quilting personalities, such as Debbie Mumm of Debbie Mumm Inc., McKenna Ryan of Pine Needles, Sue Hausmann of VSM Sewing and Linda Simmons of Sulky.
Small Friendship Quilt

We'll make a signature quilt top that is great for a weekend retreat with friends, you can collect signatures at a wedding, baby shower, birthday party or any specail family gathering. This is great for "remembrances." This quilt has 20 blocks in it, but you can add more if needed.
Please bring a small rotary cutter, mat and ruler if you have them. No bigger than a 12" cutting mat and ruler for this class only.
Kit with book $30. The kit fee will be paid directly to the instructor during the workshop.

Applique The Fast, Fun Way

Pick one from a trio of whimsical frogs. They all use the same technique with The Applique Pressing Sheet and fusible web. This is a "no stress" fun filled class where you will learn all the tricks of the trade, learn which fusibles to use and why and the fabrics best used in raw edge applique.
Supply List: Please bring 5" non stick scissors; if you can't find them, some will be available for sale in the Bear Thread Designs booth. And bring neutral colored thread and all sewing supplies normally needed for sewing classes.

Small Diamonds On Point
Hands-on Workshop, 3 Hours, Friday 9:00am - 12:00pm

This is a small scrappy strip quilt. You'll learn how to turn squares on point and how to border with half square and quarter square triangles. Learn how to "fix" bias stretching. This is a great quilt to use up your scraps with. You'll make this one over and over again.

Fusible Applique Flower

Learn how to make a raw edge applique flower using The Applique Pressing Sheet along with fusible web. Learn what notions, fabrics and fusible are better than others and why. We'll talk about different ways to quilt your quilt and hopefully have time to get started quilting. We'll talk about the different types of thread and I'll bring some for you to try. If you would like to bring something to play with and practice quilting, bring a quilt sandwich of about 12" square.
