Cindy Cummins, Owner of the popular Internet web site,
DIYStyle to Produce new DIY Expo.

This new event, which will premiere in St. Charles, MO in conjunction with the team from Original Creative Expo, will be geared toward women do-it-yourself-er’s who want to dream it, design it, sew it, craft it or do it with their own fashion and style. The DIY Expo will present a fresh new look at the entire sewing, and hand craft industry, and add more do it yourself interest areas geared to women.

The DIY Expo will be limited in space for vendors. This new expo will showcase those on the cutting edge of this DIY movement. They include designers in fashion, home dec, quilting and hand crafts. Vendors at the event will have products for the creative person who wants to do-it-yourself. Additional vendors will be geared toward the green movement, health & beauty, home décor and repair, cooking and other DIY women interest related topics.

The first DIY Expo, named Do-It Yourself Diva's Expo will be held at the St. Charles Convention Center, in St. Charles, MO. This location is in the St. Louis area….the heart of the midwest….a great place to debut this new event.

Special local guest sellers at this expo will include local Etsy Team, indie crafters and local fashion designers.

We also have a special event for this expo, the screening of Handmade Nation. Handmade Nation is the new documentary movie focusing on the rise of indie (independent) crafters and DIY across the country. Included are profile interviews with Jenny Hart of Sublime Stitching, Susan Beal of West Coast Crafty, and Kathie Sever of Ramonster, some of the founding individuals of this new craft direction, just to name a few. Faythe Levine is the mastermind behind the Handmade Nation project, which also includes a book under the same title, published by Princeton Architectural Press.

You need to reach new customers with new ideas on how to use your products. Don’t miss out on this unique opportunity to reach a more diverse audience than a traditional sewing and quilting expo can. For vendors and speakers who want to be a part of this fantastic opportunity, please contact Cindy Cummins at 636-978-4588 or cindy@diystyle.net. Applications will be available soon online .

Dates for 2010 are being set with cities soon to be announced. We are taking applications now for both vendors & seminars.

About Cindy Cummins and DIYStyle
Cindy is the creative force behind one of the fastest growing Internet shows, DIYStyle. Along with Allyce King, the host of DIYStyle, they have created one of the most viewed Internet sites that involve today’s latest sewing and crafting trends.

Involved in the sewing industry for over 25 years, Cindy Cummins is finely tuned to the next new trend in sewing. She designed some of the first serger patterns, has written numerous articles and books, and has taught professionally all over the US. Before creating DIYStyle, she was the Education Director for the Sewing Dealers Trade Association. Cindy's passion for sewing was encouraged at an early age, and she is aware of the balance of education and entertainment in reaching the next generation of sewers. With an M.S. Ed degree in Instructional Technology, as well as a B.S. in Clothing and Textiles, Cindy leads Creative Chicks Productions, devising instructional “edutainment” content for the Gen Y market. DIYStyle’s website www.diystyle.net , video podcasts and online projects are just some of their initiatives under her direction reaching this fresh young audience.
