Sulky of America names Jason Prater President

It is with great pleasure that Sulky of America announces the promotion of Jason Prater to the position of President. Prater, 35, joined the company in 1995 and has served as Vice-President of Operations since 2004 and Senior Vice-President of Sales and Operations since 2007.

Prater assumes the role of president from Fred R. Drexler, who remains as Founding Partner. Prater, who reports to Drexler, is responsible for the direction, coordination and administration of the company’s day-to-day operations as well as strategic planning and business development.

During the last 5 years, Prater has played a major role in the growth and management of Sulky of America. In 2007, he was instrumental in closing the Florida office and merging the Sales and Marketing functions of that office into the warehouse and administrative offices in Kennesaw, Georgia; he has been overseeing the combined group since 2007.

Prior to becoming VP of Operations Jason had worked in all areas of the company from warehouse co-manager to customer service, inventory control, purchasing and sales. During this time, while working full time, Jason earned his BS from Kennesaw State University with a 4.0 GPA.

Drexler said, “Over the years, Jason has been a trusted friend and business associate. His integrity in conducting business and vision for the future will serve our company for years to come. I intend to remain actively involved in the business, helping in any way that I can to support the distributors, retailers and consumers that we serve.”

Prater lives in Cartersville, GA with his wife, Alyson, and his two beautiful daughters.
